About the Cambridge Lift Chair

The PR401, known as the Cambridge, is apart of Golden’s Traditional Series. It is available in Hazelnut, Copper, Sterling, Shiraz, Calypso, and Pearl. There is a small/medium model (PR401-SME) and a medium/large model (PR401-MLA). The small/medium model is meant for individuals between 5’1″ and 5’6″. The medium/large model is meant for individuals between 5’7″ and 6’4″. Both models have a maximum weight capacity of 375 pounds.

Warranty

The Golden Technology warranty is an above-industry-standard warranty. For the first 3 years, labor and parts are fully covered. After that, labor is no longer covered and parts are pro-rated at 35%, 25%, 15%, and 5% for years 4, 5, 6, and 7 respectively. There is also a lifetime warranty on the frame, lifting and reclining mechanism.

Conclusion

The Cambridge lift chair, both the small/medium and medium/large models, live up to Golden’s history of producing good lift chairs. The price is reasonable and the warranty is exceptional. For that reason, we rate this chair 5 out of 5 stars. Buy on Amazon

Lift Chair Types & Positions

There are three types of lift chairs: two position lift chairs, three position lift chairs, and infinite position lift chairs.
Two position lift chairs can go into the sitting and 15° recline position. The back and ottoman does not move independently.
Three position lift chairs can go into the sitting, 15° recline, and 45° recline position. The back and ottoman does not move independently.
Infinite position lift chairs can go recline into any position, even 90°. If an infinite position lift chair offers a Zero-gravity position, it means that the sitter's body is positioned in a way that reduces stress on the joints. The Trendelenburg position is one where the sitter's feet are higher than his/her head. The sleep position is one where the sitter lays flat.

Lift Chair Shipping & Handling

Lift chairs are shipped with freight shipping. A truck will come to one's house and drop the box off where it is convenient. This is usually the driveway but, for individuals with long driveways or are on dirt roads, it can mean around the block. Lift chairs weight at least 100 pounds so, be prepared with helpers to bring it inside. With most companies, the delivery person will not deliver the lift chair into one's home unless in-home delivery has been ordered. Lift chairs also require assembly. Once again, it costs extra (called "white glove delivery"). Have helpers for assembly. In conclusion, on delivery day, have 2 strong individuals who can bring the chair into the home and assembly the chair.
