About the 55 Series

Available in fabric, leather, or even camo, the 55 series lift chair is a wall-a-way lift chair (meaning that it doesn’t take up much space to recline when placed in front of a wall). It has a USB hand port option, chaise pad, memory foam seat, massage, heat and vibration available.

There are no reviews of this lift chair available online. This may be due to Med-Lift selling most of their chairs in showrooms. Also, the chair is not available at major online retailers such as Amazon.com or Walmart.com.

Med Lift 5500 and 5555 Price

The 5555 is $1,300, which is $236 more than the average price for a 3-position lift chair.

Warranty

Med-Lift’s warranty is a lifetime warranty on the frame, motor, and lifting scissors. The rest of the chair has a 4 year warranty. This is higher than the standard lift chair warranty. This includes Med-lift troubleshooting and parts.

Medicare

This chair meets Medicare’s requirement for Durable Medical Equipment. When one fills out the lift chair medical necessity form (and if it is approved) one can receive a $250 to $300 rebate from Medicare. This only applies to individuals on Medicare Part B.

Conclusion

If you want to know more about Med-lift and the 55 series chair, visit a showroom or retailer near you. There, you can test the chair out for yourself. Also note that delivery does not include in-home drop-off. For the chair is shipped as freight, it is dropped off in one’s driveway. This is standard for all lift chairs. We rate it 3 out of 5. 1. Medlift special orders (other than leather) are extremely slow, order in July, delivery by December, not much communication, I asked for updates every month (about 7 emails) they acknowledged 3.

Almost to the point that you feel scammed. When received the chair was fine, But if I order something, I just want a realistic date of delivery, I was always told that they would get back in 12-24 hours, never happened! REMEMBER THESE STATEMENTS,

  2. I have a lift chair 5555 STCH-4VH.The lift is no longer working. I don’t know if it is the motor or the mechanism button that is the problem. The buttons for lifting and leaning up or down is no longer lit up. The mechanism for heating and vibrating is lit and it is still working. The store where I bought this chair told me the Company was out of business and they can’t get parts. If you know of a place where I can find someone who knows how to find and fix my problem, I will appreciate the information. The parts I believe are still under warranty. I have replaced batteries in the 9V Battery Backup and that apparently is not my problem with the chair. I purchased this chair in 2018.
