About the Leisure lift chair

Available in medium, large, and petite, the Leisure line of lift chairs from Ultra Comfort is one that’s designed to fit in most homes regardless of their decor. As Ultra Comfort’s entry model lift chair, this two position lift chair is quite underwhelming. Most companies offer 3 position lift chairs as their entry model position. It has 6 available fabrics and optional heat and massage.

The Leisure Collection is made up of the UC332-L, UC332-M, and UC214 lift chairs. The collection has a traditional style with simple lines and shapes. They are meant to fit well with existing furniture.

Here are the descriptions of each model:

UC332-L – This chair is meant for individuals under 375 pounds who need a wider seat — the seat is 23″ wide on the L which is 3″ wider than a regular chair’s seat.
UC332-M – This chair is meant for individuals who are under 375 pounds. The seat is 21″ across.
UC214 – This chair is meant for a smaller person. Its maximum weight capacity is 325 pounds and it has a 19.5″ seat width.

All 3 chairs are 3-position lift chairs. This means that the chair can recline at a slight recline (15 degrees) and a full recline (45 degrees). The ottoman and back can not move independently. There is only one motor and the chair can not be positioned in any other position besides the sitting position, slight recline, and full recline.

The series starts off at $799. This is $264 less than the average price for a 3-position lift chair.

Warranty

The Leisure Collection has a 2 year warranty on electronics. This is shorter than UltraComfort’s usual 7 year warranty. There is a 1 year warranty on mechanical and electrical labor. The frame, recline bar, and lifting mechanism is covered for a lifetime.

Conclusion

The Leisure Collection’s warranty is shorter than UltraComfort’s usual warranty but it is still better than the industry’s standard 1 year warranty. This is normal for a manufacturer to offer a shorter warranty on an entry level product. The price is very low compared to the average 3-position lift chair price but it is still $200-$300 higher than other manufacturers. For these reasons we rate this chair 4 out of 5 stars.

A lift chair is only as good as the hand held remote. If the remote craps out, the chair is useless.

uc332m we have had this lift chair for a couple of years and something fell out of the chair. How do we identify the part and get the chair reparied?

Lift Chair Types & Positions

There are three types of lift chairs: two position lift chairs, three position lift chairs, and infinite position lift chairs.
Two position lift chairs can go into the sitting and 15° recline position. The back and ottoman does not move independently.
Three position lift chairs can go into the sitting, 15° recline, and 45° recline position. The back and ottoman does not move independently.
Infinite position lift chairs can go recline into any position, even 90°. If an infinite position lift chair offers a Zero-gravity position, it means that the sitter's body is positioned in a way that reduces stress on the joints. The Trendelenburg position is one where the sitter's feet are higher than his/her head. The sleep position is one where the sitter lays flat.

Lift Chair Shipping & Handling

Lift chairs are shipped with freight shipping. A truck will come to one's house and drop the box off where it is convenient. This is usually the driveway but, for individuals with long driveways or are on dirt roads, it can mean around the block. Lift chairs weight at least 100 pounds so, be prepared with helpers to bring it inside. With most companies, the delivery person will not deliver the lift chair into one's home unless in-home delivery has been ordered. Lift chairs also require assembly. Once again, it costs extra (called "white glove delivery"). Have helpers for assembly. In conclusion, on delivery day, have 2 strong individuals who can bring the chair into the home and assembly the chair.
